Our History

Lean Value Solutions International is unique in its heritage back to The Toyota Production System and The Shingijutsu Company; we have a founding member active on our staff. Our heritage is rooted in the Toyota Production System (TPS) and its fundamentals, which we learned firsthand through close working relationships with TPS pioneers.

Mr. Akira Takenaka, a member of the team which created the legendary production system, was a primary pupil of Taiichi Ohno, developer of the original TPS concept. In recent years, the Toyota Production System has become more broadly known as today as Lean Manufacturing. Lean Value Solutions International is only one of a select group of consulting companies that can trace its links to the original pioneers of Lean, this fact is beneficial for our clients.

Mr. Takenaka started his career at Toyoda Gosei. During his tenure, he was appointed to their KAIZEN promotion office which was led by the founder of the Toyota Productions System, Taiichi Ohno. In 1987 he became a partner with Yoshiki Iwata and Chihiro Nakao and together they started the Shingijutsu Co., a Lean manufacturing consultant group. Crafting their skills under the tutelage of Taiichi Ohno throughout their careers, The Shingijutsu Co. and their consultants are widely known as the best implementers of a lean enterprise business strategy. As a founding member of Shingijutsu, Mr. Takenaka has extensively consulted with many of the consultants at LVSI as well as several large corporations around the world. Some of the most notable clients Mr. Takenaka has worked with are the Danaher Corporation, and their very first client, Wiremold, two companies known as the first successful companies in the US to integrate a successful Lean Business Strategy. Today, Mr. Takenaka is actively involved with the expanding the Lean Enterprise Platform as well as the webinar series in 2009.
